Enhanced learning opportunities abound in the research laboratories of our professors, including an extensive program of faculty-supervised paid summer research assistantships. Awarded on a competitive basis, more than two dozen undergraduate students undertake research internships with our professors each summer. A number of our students have already co-authored and published research papers with their supervising professors and their groundbreaking research teams.
These collaborative research opportunities with our professors contribute to the advanced training of Canada's next generation of science workers. Available research awards include:
- Natural Resources and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Undergraduate Student Research Awards;
- Science Undergraduate Student Research Awards (SUSRA); and UOIT Student Training Assistantships in Research (STAR) Awards
More information on Undergraduate research and other learning opportunities is available under the Experiential Learning section.
