Title: Using MATLAB in Bloodstain Pattern Analysis
Abstract: Forensic physics is a discipline within forensic science that involves the field of ballistics and bloodstain pattern analysis (BPA). Currently BPA is done using straight lines as a model for blood flight and rarely account for drag force and gravity in the models. In this talk I will be exploring the use of parabolic trajectories in modelling blood flight in MATLAB, the parameters associated with the flight of non newtonian droplets and the introduction of backwards tracking of blood droplets starting from the blood stain with limited initial conditions to the origin of the blood letting event.
