Title: Social Game Analysis for Health Games

Abstract: Together with the company Ayogo we analyzed user behaviour in a social health game called HealthSeeker. The game tries to help people with diabetes to manage their daily diet or live a healthier live by supporting physical activities. The game uses the community functions of Facebook to integrate social features to enrich the activities and motivation of the player. We analyzed HealthSeekers database and the users’ actions to find out which functions lead to more success in the game and what success users differ from unsuccessful users. Our results show that especially functions aiming directly at social interactions and support motivate players to solve more missions, fulfill more healthy goals and stick longer in the game.
